Partha pratim mazumdar was born in 1954 in Pabna to a family of artist. He
spent most of his early years in his ancested home. One of the biggest houses, situated
in a small locality
khown as kalachandpura. At that time kalachandpura was well know funits
cultural activites.
There were festival and various types of cultural
shows round
the year. Majumdaer’s father, a photographer by profession was an art lover. He
taught and inspired his son to appreciate different forms of art.
Majumder went to live with his
aunt in chandergagor, 30 kilomitres away from Kolkata in 1966. It was there
that he first came across a mine artist named Jogesh Dutta. Dutta norrated
stores without littering a single word. Left Majumder spell bound. He took

Mother Teresa in another dedicated soul
like Sister Nivedita. Both of them were originally foreigners but made this
country their home. Teresa was born in 1910 at skopje, a small village in
Yugoslavia. Her earlier name was Agnes. At eighteen she decided to become a nun
and so she came to India in 1928 and thereby she became an Indian citizen. Thus
though she was Albenian by chance, she became an Indian by choice. She started
her life in Calcutta as a teacher in a Convent school, but soon the mother in
her cried for the suffering of the poor and the down-trodden. Her ‘Nirmal
Hridoy’ at Kalighat became the shelter of the sufferers. Her activities have
now been spread all over the world. In 1979 she was awarded the novel prize for
peace. She was awarded ‘Bharat Ratna Award for the year 1980. On her visit to
African countries she was received as ‘Angel of peace’. It is very interesting
to note that even at her very ride old age she is still on her heels for her
selfless service of mankind irrespective of caste and creed.
